Sony Pictures has already made two Goose bumps movies and have developed a live-action reboot series based on RL Stinethe best-selling book series. That series is produced by Scholastic Entertainment and Goose bumps film producer Neal H. Moritz.
With the series in the works, I didn’t expect to see more films made, but during a recent interview with Y !, Stine said Sony is talking about more films, but doesn’t offer any other details.
The first two films weren’t big hits, but they made money. The first film grossed $ 158 million globally with a claimed budget of $ 58 million. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween it grossed $ 93 million on a budget of $ 35 million.
I wasn’t really interested in movies, because I felt there was a much better way to bring these classic horror stories to life in film form. But the studio and the directors just wanted to put as many characters from the books into the movies as possible, and I wasn’t a fan of how they did it.
If they decide to do more Goose bumps movies, I hope they do something different and are smarter with the property adaptation.
