‘Sex Education’: Three actresses have already left the series for the fourth season

The next “Sex Education” course comes with big changes. After the events of the third season, there is a lot of uncertainty about the future of the Moordale institute, which after the withdrawal of funds by the investors, is forced to go on sale. We don’t know what will happen to the center-right, but what is certain is that the fourth season of the Netflix series will have at least three victims among its students.

Simone Ashley, who plays Olivia in British fiction, has already announced her departure a few months ago. She the actress was successful as Kate Sharma in the second season of “The Bridgertons” and she has already confirmed that she will continue to appear in said series. Her character was very minor in “Sex Education”, so it’s understandable that she chose to stay at Regency London with Kate and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey).

‘Sex Education’: Three actresses have already left the series for the fourth season

Well, following in Ashley’s footsteps, two other actresses have announced that they will not return to the series for the fourth season. They are Patricia Allison and Tanya Reynolds, who respectively play Ola and Lily, who form a romantic couple in the teen series.

Allison was the first to confirm the news last week in a radio interview (via Deadline), where she stated the following: “I will not be joining the team for season four. I really enjoyed my time in ‘Sex Education’ and am so sorry to have to give you this news. I have been doing it for three years and I loved it.”.

Reynolds, for his part, revealed to RadioTimes that Lily is leaving with Ola and that we won’t even see her next season. “I’m not going back, which is sad, very sad”says the actress, who has been part of the cast since the first season. “It’s just the natural progression of these shows. When you have such a large cast with so many characters, I think you have to let go of some old characters to make room for new oneswhich is absolutely the right thing to do, as it should be “.

While neither has explicitly confirmed this, nor has Netflix commented on it, Reynolds’ words would imply it. Ola and Lily’s departure was not an initiative of the actresses, but rather a creative decision.

Are there reasons to fear for others?

Actually, “Sex Education” has one of the largest ensemble cast of any series currently on the airwhich has led many of his characters to often remain in the background and undeveloped, while the most important occupy the front.

We can’t imagine the series without Otis (Asa Butterfield), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) or Adam (Connor Swindells), but given the recent marches, we already fear for everyone. Especially considering that some of the protagonists are already distinguishing themselves in important projectslike Mackey and Swindells, who are part of the cast of “Barbie” or Gatwa, who was recently announced as the new Doctor of “Doctor Who”.

We will have to wait to find out who we will officially have on the fringes of ‘Sex Education’ 4, which for now has no announced release date.
