Last year it was confirmed that, following Chris Evans’ departure, Captain America would have a fourth film starring Anthony Mackie. The project will be an official continuation of the events of the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, where Sam Wilson (Mackie) finally accepts Captain America’s shield to continue Steve Rogers’ legacy.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals it exclusively the project is going from strength to strength and already has a director. In command of “Captain America 4” we will have Julius Onah, director of “The Cloverfield Paradox”, the third installment of the “Cloverfield” saga, which premiered directly and surprisingly on Netflix in 2018. The Nigerian director has also directed numerous short films and feature films ‘The Girl Is in Trouble’ and ‘Luce’.
Anthony Mackie will star in the Marvel Studios film, but no longer as Falcon, but officially as Captain America. The details of the plot are not known, but The screenplay is written by Malcolm Spellman, creator of “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, and Dalan Mussonalso screenwriter of the series, with which the film should be closely linked to the Disney + title.

‘Captain America 4’ will score the second time a Marvel Studios solo superhero franchise gets its fourth film, only in this case it will only be in the title and not with the actor himself, since Chris Evans will not reprise the character this time around.
