Z2 Comics is releasing a new graphic novel that immortalizes Dee SniderThe fight for free speech. He won’t take it It will contain not only his epic Congressional testimony, but will begin in his childhood, when he was often hushed up, and continue to this day with his current social media efforts. Looking back on that iconic congress day, Snider says, “When I look back on that historic day, I think, ‘How did I get such big balls in those skinny jeans !?'” Snider says. “Then I reflect on the fact that I still represent everything I represented all those years ago … and I’m ready to fight again.” There isn’t enough time here to examine the intricacies of Satanic panic and how it led to those hearings, but it’s an amazing piece of American history to research. You can watch Snider’s testimony in Congress below to get an idea of just how wild this time period has been.
The graphic novel will feature the writer Franco Marraffino and artist Steve Kurthand the covers are great. I love the atmosphere Carlos Olivares, Javier ArandaAnd Roy Burdine have led to their cover variants as they appear to belong to the X-Men universe, and really nothing could be more suitable for this story than that. I hope the internal art reflects this too, and with Kurth’s previous work X-Force seems likely. It will be available in soft cover, hard cover, oversized hard cover and a deluxe hand signed oversized hard cover and is now available for pre-order.
