Horror film producer Blumhouse Jason Blum wanted to revive the A nightmare on Elm Street franchising. He did it successfully Halloweenand is doing it with The exorcistwhy not try to bring Freddy Krueger back too !?
It seems that it would be useless to make another one An Elm Street nightmare film without Robert Englund in the role of Freddy. Nobody has what it takes to play the character as well as he can. Blum knows this and should he ever end up shooting a new movie on Elm Street, he’s confident he can bring Englund back in the role!
During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Blum said, “I could bring him back. I could bring anyone back. I mean Ellen Burstyn was 87, I brought her back. [the upcoming sequel to] The exorcist. 75 … he is young.
Blum is insanely confident in his abilities with a comment like “I could get anyone back”. Seriously he probably can, though! Blum is a pretty powerful producer in Hollywood.
As of now, Craven Estate owns the rights to the franchise and the last time we heard they were taking proposals from the talent for a potential next installment in the series. I’m not sure what the status is on this, but I’m sure we’ll find out eventually.
At this point, Blum should use his production power and talent to secure the rights A nightmare on Elm Street.
