X-Men ’97 Star is “amazed Disney Greenlit” Season 2 because it is “very, very dark” and “many people die”

Fans are still recovering from the shocking ending of X-Men ’97 Season 1, and it seems that season 2 will push things even more in dark territory.

Ross MarquandThat voices Professor X in the successful animated series recently made fun of the fact that the next episodes are much more brutal than fans could expect.

Speaking with Collider, Marquand revealed:

“I am amazed Disney Greenlit because it is so dark. It is very, very dark. Many people die and so many people don’t talk about it. Being honest.”

It is a fairly intense mockery considering how season 1 has already left the public amazed by the devastating massacre of Genosha, which caused the life of main characters such as Magneto, Dazzler and Gambit.

Of course, with the mutant power of the leather at stake, there is still a possibility that Magneto may have survived, but it is clear that the show is not moving away from the high posts.

Season 2 of X-Men ’97 It is currently set in 2026, with the Marvel Studios who already confirm that season 3 is being developed. At the beginning of this year, the head of streaming, television and entertainment of the Marvel, Brad Winderbaumshared however great things are getting for mutants:

“At this moment, we are still working on season 2 of X-Men ’97. It is surprisingly joining, and the screenplays for season 3 are crazy. This is certainly scratching the itching X-Men for me on television. And there is an X-Men function in development right now, so it is at the center of the X-Men currently.”

While fans are waiting for the animated series to return, the X-Men are also making their way in the MCU in style. Avengers: Doomsday It is destined to report some family faces from the era of the fox, too James Marsden As cyclops, Rebecca Romijn As mystical, Alan Cumming Like NightCrawler, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, e Ian McKellan Like Magneto.

If season 1 of X-Men ’97 It was any indication, the creative team is not holding back. Our review of the first season gave him 4.5 stars, praising him as “a perfectly connected season of awakening that acts as an almost perfect reintroduction to one of Marvel’s best superhero teams. If the musical theme does not make you cry, the character Arcs will do so.”

With Marquand warning that things are becoming only dark and fatal, fans are better prepared. Season 2 seems to be tested both the heroes and the audience in some heartbreaking ways.
