Marvel fans are about to sink their teeth Marvel zombiesbut according to the executive producer Brad WinderbaumIt seemed almost very different.
The animated series was originally designed as “a great epic story”, but due to the complicated situation of Spider-Man’s rights, the project had to be reworked in a Disney+ series in four parts.
During a recent appearance on The Who Let Us Out Podcast, Winderbaum, which acts as head of the Marvel animation, explained the unique challenge of working with the webhead in animation.
“Sony has [the] Other rights. We can use Spider-Man in a half hour animation, which is why we can also make your friendly Spider-Man neighborhood.
“But this meant that we had to take our great epic history and break it into four chapters, which I actually think has helped the narrative.”
So instead of an animated long feature film, Marvel Studios took the zombie epidemic and divided it into four distinct chapters. The result, believes Winderbaum, actually makes the show stronger.
Set in an alternative MCU reality, Marvel zombies It drops the spectators in a world where the land-616 is consumed by the undead.
Heroes like Mrs. Marvel (IMAN VELLANI), Ironheart (Dominique Thorne), Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Red Guardian (David Harbor), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) must survive the horde.
Spider-Man also oscillates in action, even if this time he is dubbed Hudson Thameswho previously interpreted it What if…?.
When he was asked if there were other characters who wanted to have entered the series, Winderbaum admitted that there is more that he would like to explore.
“There are many of which we are still talking about, you know? I hope that if we have the opportunity to do more, we will be able to tell their stories too.”
Director Bryan Andrews Added:
“No spoiler because we don’t know. But yes, we have ideas for another thing if we are able to go there.”
It seems that Marvel is already thinking about a possible continuation if fans present themselves for the surrender of the undead.
