Along the way, they come across new faces, embarrassing encounters and a lot of rock energy.
To make things even fresher, the new year is actually Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré coolAND Mike Dirnt of Green Day, who not only performs in the film, but also contributed to developing it through live nation productions.
Directed by Lee KirkThe cast also includes Jenna Fischer AND Angela Kinsey from The officeas well Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Acute Ruffalo, McKenna Grace, Fred Arten, Bobby LeeAND Sean Gunn.
The film comes in the wake of the massive performance of Green Day Headliner to Coachella 2025 and, of course, their music is cooked in the DNA of history. Speaking of the spirit that inspired the film, explained Armstrong:
“Rule of Van Days. Guinerai all night not to sleep, so we will play a show for 10 children in a basement of a friend of a friend of a friend 50 miles east of wherever you have ever heard. But you will do it again the next day, and the one after.
With a mix of sincere friendship, chaos powered by rock and the type of journey on the Shenanigans road that define youth, New Year REV It looks like a fun ride that both the fans of the film and the irreducible of the Green Day will not want to lose.
The film will be previewed at the Toronto International Film Festival on 12 September.
