Peacemaker season 2 reveals that there are at least 100 realities in the Multiverse DCU

Pacifier Season 2 has just opened the DC universe in an enormous way, officially confirming that at least 100 alternative realities side by side exist. This revelation not only expands the history of the show, establishes a key block for James GunnThe entire Roadmap DCU.

Season 2 marks the third episode in the DCU in evolution of Gunn, however Pacifier He is still perfecting his transition from the old DCEU. One of the most obvious adjustments was the replacement of the Justice League cameo from season 1 with the Gunn gang of justice Superman. But instead of being only a change of continuity, season 2 suggests that these differences could actually derive from alternative timing and parallel realities existing simultaneously.

The premiere of the season, “Another Rick Up My Sleeve”, does not waste time immersing yourself in this idea. Christopher Smith, he played again from John dinnerarrive face to face with a doppelgangger version of himself.

The meeting ends brutally with a peacemaker forced to kill his other self, but the real turning point comes later. The origins of this second Smith are linked to the chamber that takes place quantum, a mysterious multiverse portal that becomes central in the history of the season.

Episode 2, “a man is good only like his bird”, makes revelation even greater. After discovering where his double came from, Peacemaker discovers that the chamber that takes place quantum is “a dimensional portal that leads to 99 other universes”.

This means that Peacemaker’s land is only one of the at least 100 realities stacked in the Multiverse DCU. This remodel as fans can see the connected universe of Gunn. The DCU is not limited to a single temporal sequence and the existence of 99 other universes suggests that the projects of other Worlds will have a strong presence in the future film and television slate of DC.

While the scope of the chamber can extend only to 99 reality, this does not mean that the multiverse itself is limited to that number. The infinite lands could still exist out there, with this only being the first taste of the largest cosmic structure.

Long -date DC fans will notice that this is a great transition from how the multiverse has traditionally been managed. Comics have often blocked the number of universes to 52, with each land with their own unique identity.

The earth-1 acts as main continuity, Earth-2 represents the golden age of DC, Earth-3 hosts evil versions of the Justice League and so on. And of course, Crisis on infinite lands He pushed the idea that the number could be unlimited.

Setting the foundations to 100 reality, Pacifier Season 2 gives Gunn’s DCU a huge sandbox in which to play. It means crossover, alternative versions of heroes and even ties with Elseworlds’ projects are all on the table. If this is only the beginning, then DC’s multiverse narrative is about to become much bigger.
