In a recent interview with Comicbook, Koules has opened the project by promoting his new thriller trust. Confirmed that the eleventh film would be collected immediately after Saw X.saying:

It is interesting, considering Saw X. It was designed as a Midquel inserted between the original film of 2004 and its direct sequel. The film followed the desperate search for John Kramer for cancer treatment in Mexico, just to find that Cecilia Pederson’s medical operation was a scammer.
Jigsaw has returned to full force, demanding by revealing his traps brand, apparently not leaving survivors.
