HBO Max has dropped the trailer for Billy Joel: And so goSortA two -part documentary that promises a deeply personal and not filtered look in the life of one of the most lasting icons of music.

Directed by Susan Lacty AND Jessica LevinThe doctor pulls from a treasure of movies never seen for unpublished performances, home video and clip behind the scenes that have remained under the compresses so far.

The film is “made around for in -depth and exclusive interviews with Billy Joel, illuminating all the key moments that forged his character and the events and muses that inspired his music for more than six decades.

“By exploring new revealing territories and enriched by clips of video and dynamic performances from his musical work, many never before, it is a window on his process and tells his monumental successes, while they dive into the hidden complexities of his life.

It is a heavy training for a documentary that seems determined to do justice to Joel’s complexity. Part 1 was previewed on July 18 on HBO Max, with part 2 following July 25th.
