The couple had previously appeared in Barbie Together in 2023. Hard guys originated as a specification of the writer Daniel Gold (Work mothers), and the story follows two henchmen who are tired of being used without criminals, rewriting the rules while they build a new life to their conditions.
Gosling and Jessie Henderson are in negotiations through Open Invite Entertainment, which has a first time agreement with Amazon MGM Studios. Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum are in negotiations to produce for Gloria Sanchez Productions, with Trevor Engelson and Aaron Folbe in talks for the exec products for the basement. There is still no word on those who are directing.
