Live-Action My Little Pony Movie in Development at Amazon MGM and Hasbro

The world of My little pony He is making the leap from toys and from animation to live action for the first time. Amazon MGM Studios and Hasbro Entertainment are collaborating to develop a live film based on the beloved toy line.

The colorful Pony brand was a cultural staple from its debut in 1982, it generated countless animated series, films and a vast base of fans. The most recent voice of the big screen was My little pony: a new generation In 2021, landing on Netflix after his theatrical release was demolished during the pandemic.

This new project marks an important first for the franchise because it is a live-action adaptation. The details are scarce at the moment, without still a creative team, but the news will certainly arouse curiosity, and probably a little skepticism, among the fans.

For more than four decades, My little pony It concerned the rainbow -colored ponies with vibrant neon rinds, spreading themes of friendship and kindness. While originally marketed towards girls, the franchise gained an unexpected wave of adult fans, known as “bronies”, thanks to the 2010 series My little pony: friendship is magical.

The intelligent and inclusive themes of the show have gained a sequel of worship and even transformed the ponies into symbols to challenge gender stereotypes.

Hasbro has produced over a thousand varieties of different ponies and the toy line recently earned a place in the National Toy Hall of Fame.

This move is part of the broader strategy of Hasbro to extract its iconic IP for cinematographic and television projects. Together with My little ponyThe company is developing a Trace series of movies and TV with Sony, a live action Dungeons & Dragons Series on Netflix, an animated Magic: The Gathering series, also on Netflix, and even adaptations for the game show of Trivial pursuit AND Scrabble For the CW.

No release date or casting details again, but the ponies are about to exchange the animated magic of Equestria for a CGI restyling in the flesh and blood.
