Superman He made a box office cut this weekend and while the reactions vary, an element of the film that has earned almost universal praise is David CorenswetIt is fresh interpretation of the man of steel.
His performance loses the meditobond intensity of previous iterations, instead embracing the charm, warmth and sincerity they remember Christopher ReeveThe classic portrait.
Now, thanks to a new featurette behind the scenes and a series of surprising black and white photos released by Hollywood Authentic, the fans are taking a firsthand look at the first day of Corenswet on the set in Superman mode.
In the featurette, Corenswet reflects on how everything started:
“My first hearing was a car -night I made at my house with my wife. I saw this type of old Hollywood humor – such as a Fred Astaire or a Donald O’Connor or a humor by Jimmy Stewart.
“I was thrilled to do it and I thought I did a good job with it, but I wasn’t sure James intended him that way. So, for what I knew it wasn’t what he was looking for.”
That charm of the old school clearly resounded with the director James GunnWho did not make the fact that he aimed to reconnect the character with his roots of the golden age, a superman who guides with kindness, hope and a slightly unusual sense of humor. The instinct of Corenswet soon exploited that vision, even if at the moment it was not sure if he had landed.
The photos capture a relaxed but significant moment in Corenswet’s journey, from the wardrobe to the rehearsals to stand in the dress for the first time. It is a small peek behind the cloak, but underlines the gravity and the vertigo of entering such an iconic role.
I love it or not, Superman It is officially in flight and the serious and centered performance on the man of Coresweet is part of what makes this version stand out. If this featurette is an indication, he knew what kind of Superman he wanted to give life from the first day, and flew straight to it.
