After three years of hilarious noble attempts, The Lord of the Rings OnlineThe healthiest and ridiculous community tradition has finally achieved the doors of success … just to stumble on them immediately and get lost inside Mount Doom.
Every year, Streamer Burkeblack organizes what is known as Great Hobbit Run, a MMO pilgrimage in which players create brand new and low -level hobbit characters and try to marry them without gears, in the dark, from Bag End to Mordor’s fiery heart.
Think like the journey of Frodo and Sam, but with 200 chaotic cousins who have labeled and none of them are ready for literally no part of it.
“In general, encouraged everyone to be level five, or level one hobbit, whatever they can get,” said Burkeblack at PC Gamer. “If [people on] The server, however, are of a high level and see an army of Hobbit running, and I am like ‘Wow, I will follow him, I want to see what is happening with this,’ we cannot stop it. “
The result is a surreal and annual show in which the higher level players sometimes jump inside to protect the horde in half like the makeshift rangers, escorting this parade of barefoot chaos through a high -level enemy territory.
But despite the valiant efforts, previous years did not end well. In 2023, the Hobbits were annihilated in Moria. In 2024, the vegetation of the angry forest of Rohan gave them the treatment of Barbabia. It was not a walk for Mordor, it was a sacrifice of Hobbit of mass in slowing down.
But this year? This year they made it. Well … almost.
About 40-50 Hobbit survived six hours up to Mount Doom. Once inside, they did what he would have done any disoriented army of small role players: they were lost. The lava was right there, Sammath Naur at hand, but they could not find the real crack of fate.
So instead? They just jumped into the fire. Call it a technical victory. Call it a hobbit solution.
If you have six hours and a need for joy, the full recording of Burkeblack of the Great Hobbit Run 2025 is available to watch here.
After 3 years of attempts, the Hobbits finally arrived at Monte Doom and threw us into the lava! Thanks to Tobthe Helpers and all those who have joined for a long time, but thin forget the shire ring, so we will try again next year! pic.twitter.com/saksduyq7i
