Larry David has returned, and this time he is bringing former president Barack Obama Long for the race. HBO has officially illuminated a new series of half -hour sketch comedies that brings together the embarrassing signature of David and Obama, well … patience.
The without title limited series will explore American history in the only way in which Larry David can be hilariously, irreverently with a touch of self-deployment.
The project is written by David e Curb your enthusiasm collaborator Jeff Schafferwho is also directing. He will present members of the Cent of Curta, a “noteworthy” guest star, and is produced by the Obamas Superior Banner of Earth.
The official logline already gives the tone perfectly: “President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor the 250th anniversary of America and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion … but then Larry David called”.
It is also the first thing David has done since then Brake Wrapped his twelfth and last season last year, and it seems that the break has not been scheduled.
David said: “Once the sidewalk is finished, I celebrated with a three -day foam party. After a violent allergic reaction to the South, I wanted to return to my simple life as a beekeeper, collecting organic honey from wild flowers in my lawn.
“Alas, one day my bees have mysteriously disappeared. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I go back to television, hoping to relieve the loss of my beloved hive.”
Obama, clearly reinforced for any chaos David has planned, joked: “I sat down through the table by some of the most difficult leaders in the world and fought it with some of our most intractable problems. Nothing prepared me to work with Larry David.”
Hbo’s Amy Gravitt It’s all in the project: “It is difficult to remember a moment before the sidewalk, or without the perspective of Larry David on modern life. We are enthusiastic about the fact that Larry is returning to HBO, this time with a higher ground, to take a look at our shared history while we celebrate our semi -equincidential.”
Jeff Schaffer made fun of the tone of the series, adding: “The characters that Larry is playing did not change the story. In fact, they were largely ignored by history. And this is a good thing.”
No release date again, but this promises to be one of the most unexpected comic collaborations in recent memory.
