Fans of Rogue One They were itching for the K-2SO meeting with Cassian Andor in Lucasfilm Andor Series, especially since the imperial and reprogrammed imperial droid has left such a sign in the film. With Alan Tudyk Returning to the character’s voice, the expectations were high for a significant arc.
But, apparently, Andor Season 2 did not have so much space for K-2SO as many hoped, and according to Tudyk, in reality it’s okay.
Speaking in a panel hosted by Collider during Fanexpo Denver, Tudyk explained that even the scenes that did not enter the final cut still played a role in modeling the show and its performance.
“There is a lot of story to tell. You lost a big slice of us who know each other.”
Refers to the development link between Cassian and K-2SO, which is essential for the emotional weight of Rogue One. But, given the tone rooted on the ground and with the espionage, bringing too early to a towering droid and a strong mouth risks breaking that furtive narrative rhythm.
Creator Tony Gilroy He had previously admitted a lot, noting that the presence of K-2SO was a difficult solution for the pace of cloak and dagger of the show.
However, Tudyk has found value in implicit development. The relationship between Cassian and K-2 did not need to be fully demonstrated completely.
“Many of the things I had in mind on Cassian and K-2 are in that empty space that we cannot see, and that’s how they care about each other. This is how we thought about it.”
Even without any scene that came to the screen, those out -of -screen moments modeled the way Tudyk approached the emotionally and narrative character. It concerns less what is missing and the more about what is suggested. The connection is there, he lives only in the quiet moments between the lines.
