Denis Villeneuve will disappear the whole dune: Messiah in Imax

If you have captured Dune: Second part In Imax, you know how fantastic the vision experience was. That moment when Paul ATREIDS mounts the sandworm and the screen expands to that ratio 1.43: 1 complete was so damn fresh and engaging!

Now, director Denis Villeneuve is going all-in for Dune: MessiahMaking him one of the only two Hollywood films never shot entirely with IMAX 70mm cameras in full screen.

The news fell on CNBC, where CEO of Imax Richard Gelfond He randomly dropped the bomb during a segment in the next releases. Here’s what he said:

“The next we are doing in this way is Dune 3. Denis Villeneuve is shooting the entire film in the film Imax.”

An IMAX spokesman confirmed that Villeneuve will use IMAX cameras, but has stopped verifying Gelfond’s statement that the entire film will be shot in this way. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has not officially commented.

The timing of the news is also interesting, especially considering that Christopher Nolan currently has all the 70mm film cameras blocked during filming The odyssey. Since there are only some of these specialized cameras on Earth, Villeneuve will have to wait for Nolan to wrap before roll up Messiah.

I was very happy with how the first two films have occurred and you can bet on your ass, Dune: Messiah It will be an absolutely enormous cinematographic experience as it promises to be a visual growing of the Dune franchise.
