In Superman: the animated seriesFans were treated with one of the most chaotic and compelling teams in the history of the DC with Lex Luthor and The Joker. The crossover in three parts of 1997 “World’s Finest” started things in Gotham, where Joker steals a statue made of Kryptonite and offers Luthor a deadly deal: for the right price, he will kill Superman.
The Arc also brought together Batman and Superman in a legendary face-off shot the team, but laid the foundations for the animated series of the Justice League. Now, in the next live dc, Nicholas HaultWhich is entering the role of Lex Luthor, it seems very interested in rekindling that notorious alliance.
During a recent print stop with CB, Hoult opened the potential of a lex-joker partnership on the big screen.
“One of the comics I read was a connection between Lex and Joker, the combination of those two together was really fun to read … so maybe if we are lucky and we can continue making movies, it’s something I would like to see.”
He added:

It is not difficult to understand why the idea is attractive. Lex brings the cold intellect and the corporate threat. Joker Porta chaos and not filtered madness. Together, they could be a dangerous and unpredictable duo of the chaos, especially in the new DC universe of James Gunn, who is already supporting the unique narration and guided by the character with Superman Set up to start 2025.
It remains to be seen if this potential bad alliance actually arrives on the screen, but it would be fun to see! Now the real question is … who will end up playing Joker in this world?
