Teaser for The Running Man by Edgar Wright offers Glen Powell’s first glance – Full Trailer Drops tomorrow

A teaser for Edgar Wright’S The man running just dropped, offering our first correct glance Glen Powell Like Ben Richards, the competitor condemned in a game of dystopian and rigged death watched by millions.

The teaser was substantially released to announce the complete trailer, which will hit tomorrow, but the rapid glance already suggests a large and exciting film. It presents Powell who tells us that the trailer will arrive tomorrow and then there is a blow behind the scenes of a huge explosion.

The film is based on Stephen King’s novel, and is a dystopian story set in a future society in which the government controls everything, the story follows Ben Richards, a desperate and depleted man who participates in a deadly game show called “The Running Man” to win money for his family.

The game predicts that Richards be hunted by professional killers as they try to evade the capture for a month. While navigating through an urban landscape in decomposition and dangerous, Richards becomes a symbol of resistance against the oppressive government.

The director Edgar Wright previously spoke of the film that said: “One of the things of the book I loved was the fact that Ben Richards is out of the world alone, so it’s like the most fatal game of Hide and Seek. It seems to make a road movie in many ways: a very intense and dangerous road movie.”

He continued, “Ben is moving through different environments and meet different people while trying to survive 30 days in nature”.

As for the casting Powell in the lead, Wright shared the thought behind the choice: “I heard that it was important to see someone who had never done something similar before. He is similar to Bruce Willis, when he was still the boy from Moonlighting, before he died hard, where this adds to the suspense. Can they do it?”

Fans of the novel have long desired an adaptation that completely draws on the tension and cynicism of King’s original vision. With Wright on the director’s chair and Powell who enters Richards’ worn shoes, this could finally be.

The man in the running opens in cinemas on November 7th. You can take a look at the teaser below and return tomorrow for the complete trailer, it will be a wild race.
