Ang Lee to direct the Old Old Gold Mountain immigrant

Ang Lee He is going back behind the camera for Old mountain of golda new film adaptation of C. Pam Zhang’s Disturbing debut novel How much of these hills is gold.

The two -time Oscar winner director (Brokeback Mountain, Life of pi) will bring his signature poetic intensity to this large and revisionist western over two immigrants who try to survive and bury the past, in a mythical American landscape.

The adaptation, written by Hansol JungFollows the brothers Lucy and Sam, “Children recently orphans of immigrants who are suddenly alone in a land that refutes their existence. By fleeing the threats of their western mining city, they began to bury their father in the only way that he will free them from their past.

“Along the way, they encounter bones of giant buffaloes, tiger paw prints and the spectra of a devastated landscape and family secrets, rivalry between brothers and glimpses of a different type of future.

It seems that Lee is perfect for this project, telling this story. The director is also developing a Bruce Lee Biographical film.
