He ever wanted to hear the Star Trek: The Next Generation Theme through the twang of a banjo? The musician Gordon Lustig did this.
In a delightfully unusual tribute, Lustig transforms the epic soundtrack of Jerry Goldsmith’s soundtrack into a full -full Jam Bluegrass session, complete with banjo, violin, mandolin and vertical bass.
It is a surprisingly faithful grip that exchanges the curvature nuclei for wooden strings and works magnificently. And just when you think it cannot go better, the reinvented TNG introduction replaces the Enterprise-D with a flying banjo that gives itself into space.
It is strange. It is fascinating. It is totally worth watching.
