Pixar’s Helium It does not start with a bang, begins with a feeling of solitude, confusion, pain of not adapting. From the beginning, the film draws on the head of the head of a child who is in mourning, uncertain in his place in the world and desperate for the connection.
What makes this story so special is the way in which it envelops that very human emotion in a cosmic adventure full of strange aliens, galactic advice and spielberg style wonder. This is Pixar’s most unusual film for years, but one of his most personal.
The story follows Elio, a boy with a vivid imagination and a growing sense that does not belong. Her mother and dad left and her relationship with her aunt, voiced by America Ferrera is tense. On the top of that school it is a nightmare of bullies and isolation.
One day, in a museum that Elio comes across a space exhibition that tells the story of the Voyager and after listening to the golden record, he decides that he wants to get out of this world. It actively includes a trip to be kidnapped by aliens and, after a series of wild events, gets his desire.
This is how Elio ends up in the press release, an intergalactic company full of bizarre and vibrant alien species. They think it is the official leader of the earth and are interested in becoming an ambassador. This pushes him to a wild mission.
At the base of the film talks about a child who is learning who is to be thrown into the deep unknown. The journey is less in saving the world and more on saving himself and those he loves. Along the way he meets an alien named Glordon, a creature similar to a snail. This commitment is the emotional still of the film, adding humor and heart to the central trait of history.
The film was directed by Adrian Molina (Coco) ,, Madeline Sharafian AND Domee Shi,The film relies on the classic science fiction DNA of the 80s. Sometimes, it seems Close meetings of the third type reinvented through the eyes of a child and a spiritual cousin to the film Explorers With his childish curiosity and optimism with the eyes wide open.
There is also a real atmosphere here. Pixar’s visual team, inspired by both Spielberg’s dream haze and darker corners of Alien AND ThingCraft Ulterworld, which seem disturbing and magical all at once, and is really fantastic.
Yonas Kiberab It offers wonderfully vulnerable performance like Elio. His vocal work gives the character a peaceful force and a softness.
What is impressive is how Elio never forgets his emotional nucleus. The laughter is there, the adventure is great, but it always returns to pain and hopes that he pushes helium forward. The film explores the universal desire to be seen and understood.
There are some moments in the film that are quite emotional, which, as you know, is what Pixar is good. They certainly love to pull the heart ropes.
While this film may not be a huge abacration of the crowd as some of Pixar’s successes were, there is a audience out there that will appreciate it and appreciate the story he tells.
Helium It may not have been heavily marketed and on paper it may not seem like a great Pixar event. But the film surprises you with his heart, his aesthetic ambition and his deeply recognizable message.
It is not just about the first contact with aliens, but it is the first contact with yourself. If you give him a chance, this strange small spatial odyssey could only speak with something real within you.
