The “guidance principle” of the creator of acolytes for the Star Wars show was “What Were Weren George [Lucas] Do?”

Before Self -cable I got the ax in 2024, the team behind Disney+ Star Wars The series was following a very specific mantra, which came from its creator, Leslye Headland: “What would George do?

According to the director of photography Chris TeagueIt was cooked in the foundation of the visual language of the show. In a recent conversation with Gold Derby, Teague opened the creative mentality that led their approach to filming. He explained:

“Leslye would always say:” What would George do? What would George think? “And this was our guiding principle.”

Set during the upper republic, Self -cable followed the intertwined paths of Mae and Osha, who had to play the twin sisters Amandla Stenberg captured in a dark mystery unleashed by the murder of a master Jedi, played by Carrie-Anne Moss. The series aimed to explore the shadow increasing on the edge of the golden age of the Jedi.

Teague described their cinematography as rooted in “elegant simplicity”, something that George Lucas himself supported the original Star Wars of 1977.

“If we marry the camera, it must mean something. He must underline a part of the narrative, or must be connected to some aspects of the choreography, or something like that.”

The creative team was trying to do something different and unique with this show, but for any reason, Disney pulled the plug on the show. The relationships mentioned in the public as the main reason, but other relationships say that the public was actually decent.

In the end, for better or for worse, was the series made with the constant thought of what George Lucas would have done? The question is: have you seen Lucas’ influence on the series while looking at it?
