If you were hoping for another return by Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill I just clarified … it’s time to go on.
In a recent interview with the comic, the legendary Jedi actor reflected on his inheritance in Star Wars Franchising and where he sees his place now … which is firmly in the past.
“I’m so grateful to George [Lucas] For leaving me part of that during the day, the humble days in which George defined the most expensive film of the most expensive budget ever made “.
“We would never expect it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my agreement is, I had my time. I am appreciated, but I think they should focus on the future and on all the new characters.”
It is almost definitive as you get. Hamill is going from this franchise, and that’s okay. It is time to focus on new characters and new stories in another corner of the galaxy.
Also he could not help but throw some humor, saying:
“I disappeared [The Last Jedi]I left my clothes behind. And there is no way to appear like a ghost of the naked force. “
While his last great appearance arrived in 2019 Skywalker’s ascentwhere it sprouted in a complete spectral form, we saw Luke’s views from how in The Mandalorian AND Boba Fett’s book Thanks to de-aging technology and digital magic. But even those apparitions seem to be out of the table in the future.
