Since then Arcane Season 2 ended with a bang, fans wondered what awaits us for the franchise. While the anti -Somamossa and Forco games are playing things close to the chest, writer Amanda Overton I have just dropped an intriguing suggestion on where a spin-off could go … emotionally and theatically.
Overon, who helped to model the screenplays for both seasons of the Netflix successful series, recently opened on how his personal life is moving the type of stories he wants to tell later. He said to Screenrant:
“I was not a mother when we were writing season 1 and 2, and now I am. And I was like, ‘there is much more to explore in terms of motherhood or how the phases of life change.'”
That perspective of life could open the door to a very different type Arcane History, a less focused on the growing conflict and more on the evolution of people who have already fought their battles. Overton added:
“[I’d be interested in] Older characters: what happens when Ciitlyn are older, and are now adults and what choices do they do? ”
It is an interesting pivot, especially considering how Arcane Season 2 ended with Piltover who recovered from the invasion of Ambassa, the folding technology of Viktor’s time has moved the tides and has undergone straightening leaks with Vander and Jinx.
But a more silent follow-up guided by the characters could be exactly what the series needs to deepen its emotional resonance.
Meanwhile, showrunner Christian Linke He is keeping things a little more rooted. In the same interview, he said:
“I think, for now, it’s a time for us to take a step back [and] Look at the entire map, if you want. ”
That cautious tone is a movement from immediate post-electricity, when fans expected more new projects to enter development.
In fact, things have become so speculative that the riot co-founder Marc Merrill I had to clarify things about X: “To clarify, he did not say 3 separate shows – he said exploring 3 regions. We are exploring a lot of different shows (and games)”.
However, fans who hope to return to Runeterra will have some waiting. When he spoke previously about the future of the franchise, Linke clarified him:
“Yes, it takes time – depending on whether it is a series or a film. We are exploring both many, many directions. Much is reduced to finding the right people, the right vision, the right idea, the right story.
“It will take years and once we have confidence that something is happening, we will talk more about it.”
For now, both seasons of Arcane They are streaming on Netflix. As for the neighbor, the older heroes, maternity, the new regions or perhaps everything above, I deal with seeing what the next is.
