Captain America: Brave New World Divisive Post-Credits Scene explained by the director and was a late addition

Marvel fans expect great things from the post-cried scenes in their films, but Captain America: Brave New World He didn’t do much to excite fans. In fact, it was quite stupid.

The film only presents a sequence of final credits and its reception was far from enthusiastic. Some fans even call him the worst post-Credit scene of Marvel Studios to date.

So what happened? According to the director Julius OnahIt has always been the plan to have only one post-Credit scene. While spoken with Collider, he explained that rather than more taken around, they wanted to focus on Sam Wilson’s journey as a new Captain America.

Onah explained: “It was always the case that what seemed organic for this film was only leaning on a post-credits sequence that could make fun of what is coming later. We wanted to make fun of it in a way that has not become Too explicit.

That singular scene shows Sam who visits the leader in the raft, where he receives a cryptic warning on a impending multival threat and “others” who arrive on earth-616. One of the stupid things of the scene is like everyone behaved as if superheroes had never had to face an existential threat before outside the earth.

Given this Avengers: Doomsday He is on the horizon, he should have been an exciting mockery, but many fans found it frustratingly vague.

Onah continued saying: “This was the general objective of this film, so starting to launch too many post-Credit sequences seemed to have moved away from that. Even the mockery we have is still very focused on Sam.”

Furthermore, it turns out that this post-Credit scene was not even in the original filming, it was added during the filming last year. This could explain some of its ambiguity. The redesign of the leader in the scene had already mentioned his additional addition, but Onah confirmed it saying:

“This was shot during our additional photography. This is what I mean for all this is expected in advance. We did not know what our post-Credit scene would still have been.

“As you know, there was a huge strike of writers, so this meant that it was pencils not only in this film, but to pencils on everything in films and TV. Nothing was happening. “

He continued: “So, who knew what Thunderbolts Would it necessarily take on? Or others Avengers would it seem? So when we came out of that strike and we actually been able to put the pen on paper for New brave worldAnd all the others have been able to put the pen on the paper for their films.

“It is then that you can actually start having a real conversation on where things are going and which post-Credit sequence is the appropriate one to make fun of. So that’s how it evolved. “

In the end, the scene was a last minute decision taken after the end of the Hollywood strikes and without a screenplay for Avengers: DoomsdayIt would always be more a wide configuration of a direct grip. Only better and more interesting Dailogue would have improved it!
