Speak No Evil Director James Watkins set for the dc movie by Helm Mike Flanagan Clayface

Don’t speak badly director James Watkins It is confirmed to DC Studios Diretti ‘ Clay films, whose script comes from the director Mike Flanagan.

Watkins was said to be in the running for the director’s concert last week, together with Jeff Wadlow (Kick-ax 2, t ruth or give).

Previously it had been reported that “the main protagonist should not be portrayed as the notorious villain who is known as in Batman Canon. “So, this version of Clayface is different from whatever we saw Batman before.

On the side of the production, James Gunn AND Peter Safran they are guiding the charge, together with The Batman Matt Reeves AND Lynn Harris.

Flanagan previously had shared that he would be “really eager to make an autonomous Clayface movie as horror/thriller/tragedy”. Subsequently he shared that he actually launched that film to Warner Bros., saying: “They didn’t bitter that. Even if I’m ready to go at any time”.

In another interview, Flanagan spoke of his initial meeting with the study of the fact that Clayface was a horror film, and that was not the only DC film they talked about. He said:

“I went to Warner Bros. to have the meeting on DC. It was a general meeting with [producer] Jon Berg speaks if there was something in the DC universe for which I could be suitable … I really want[ed] make clay.

“I entered and said: ‘You know, if you want to do some dc things that tilt Horror, boy I have a great interpretation of Clayface. I’d like to make that movie. ‘”

In comics, Clayface appeared for the first time Detective comics #40 in June 1940. The original version of the character was an actor who turned to crime, adopting the person of one of his horror roles. Over the years, the character has evolved, becoming a monstrous figure made of a strange substance similar to clay.

I am enthusiastic about this film and it will be interesting to see who the termatley lands in the director’s chair. Which of these two directors would you like to see him take it?

Clay It will be released in cinemas on 11 September 2026.
