If you were wondering what the thought process behind Mark Grayson’s new blue dress Invincible Season 3, showrunner and creator Robert Kirkman He offered an exploration.
It turns out that there is a deeper reason behind the exchange of colors and is binding directly to the transformation of Spider-Man.
Speaking with the direct, Kirkman confirmed that Mark’s change of costume was very intentional and rooted in the classic narration of comics.
Kirkman said: “This is definitely for design. When Cory Walker, Ryan Ottley and I was doing comics, we tried a lot to play the tropes of the comic industry. The superhero that gets the new costume is something that happens in almost everyone History of superheroes.
One of the most iconic examples is Spider-Man’s passage in his black suit, which drastically modified his personality. Peter Parker’s Symbote’s Symbote has not simply improved his powers; He pulled out his aggression, pushing him closer to the limit.
Kirkman continued: “The type of darkness that derives from that change and the emergence of poison as a clear bad that derives from it is a really fantastic addition to the myth of [Spider-Man].
“And I think there are many worthy additions to the myth of Invincible that present themselves during this change of costume, that type of mirror what happened with Spider-Man.”
Invincible Season 3 is now in full swing on first videos, with episodes 1-4 available to watch the video first now.
