Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart, Dopesick, no one will save you) will co-star in Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla x Kong Monsterverse sequel.
The next film will be directed by Grant Sputore, following Adam Wingard, who directed the last two episodes, and the screenplay is by Dave Callaham.
The new film is described as a continuation of the franchise centered around Godzilla, Kong, and an assortment of other Titans.
While Kong and Godzilla will still star in the film, Legendary is looking to lean more heavily on its human characters. Dever is a fantastic young actress and I’m sure she will make a great addition to the film.
The question is: will this new director really be able to tell a strong character-driven story alongside the franchise’s signature epic scale and Titan battles? I wasn’t a fan of the couple of films Winger directed, so let’s see what happens with a new director.
