WAITRESS: THE MUSICAL will premiere on Max in February

Waitress: The Musicalwhich is a filmed version of the Tony-nominated Broadway hit, will premiere on Max on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14.

If you like musicals, it’s worth checking out. I took my wife to see the show a few years ago and it was really well done and I liked the music.

Waitress: The Musical is based on the film written by and starring the late Adrienne Shelly Keri Russell AND Nathan Fillionand that film will also be available on Max starting February 1st.

It is the Broadway debut of singer-songwriter and actress Sara Bareilles. The story follows Jenna Hunterson (Bareilles), “a waitress and expert pastry chef stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage.

“When a baking competition in a neighboring county offers her a chance to escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Thanks to the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected love story, she begins to find the courage to pull a long-abandoned dream off the shelf.”

In addition to acting, Bareilles composed the music and lyrics. Jessie Nelson he adapted the musical for the stage. He is also the protagonist Charity Angel Dawson, Caitlin Houlahan, Drew Gehling, Dakin Matthews, Eric Anderson, Joe Tippett AND Christopher Fitzgerald.

Waitress: The Musical was directed by Brett Sullivanwith the musical directed for the stage by Diane Paulus and adapted by Nelson.
