Here is an interesting and well made sci-fi short film to watch titled (DIS)CONNECTED. The story is set in 2071 and in the story, when her mother’s AI-generated memories collide with reality, she must face her past for the sake of her future.
The full synopsis reads: “A standardized implant allows users to filter their reality, replacing unwanted memories with new ones and modifying a user’s life experience in real time to suit.
“When a network glitch causes MINA to experience conflicting memories, she begs a hacker (COLE) to remove the implant from her neck. Refusing to help her, Cole claims he failed the initial diagnostic test, but their conversation soon reveals that there is a personal bond and buried resentment between the two.
“Mina says that for years she has used the implant to rewrite the memory of her daughter’s death, and now she must prove to Cole that she can come to terms with her grief.
“Cole ultimately decides to help her, but when the facility’s safety protocol kicks in, the software overwhelms Mina’s senses and presents herself as her dead six-year-old daughter, asking if she can stay…”
