A trailer for the sci-fi thriller has been released Rennerhero Frankie Muniz, Violet Beane, Taylor GrayAND Marcia Gay Harden like the voice of the AI assistant Salenus.
The film was directed by Robert Rippberger (The Hoodwink, Make an effort, Those who leave), from a screenplay written by Luca Medina AND Martino Medinafrom a story by Luke Medina.
The full synopsis reads: “Renner (played by Frankie Muniz), a lonely computer genius driven by a need for control, designs an artificial intelligence called Salenus to help him overcome his crippling social anxieties and find love.
“Encouraged by Salenus, Renner forms a bond with his charming neighbor Jamie, but their relationship begins to crumble when she begins interacting with the A.I.
“As dark secrets and betrayals begin to surface, Salenus’ influence on Renner takes a harmful turn, leaving him trapped in the devastating consequences of his invention.
It sounds a little complicated, but it could also be a lot of fun. Muniz seems to take his performance to the edge of insanity. Check out the trailer below and watch Renner in select US theaters on February 7.
