Netflix has released the final trailer for its upcoming original anime series titled The Sakamoto Dayswhich looks like a lot of fun and is full of great anime action!
The story follows legendary former hitman Taro Sakamoto as he teams up with his comrades to take on the looming string of assassins and secure a peaceful life with his beloved family.
The series is an adaptation of the anime and manga, written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It tells the story of the supreme assassin, who is “feared by the bad guys and admired by the other hitmen.
“One day he falls in love AND out of shape, worried about marriage, retirement and fatherhood. But he is still gifted with superhuman abilities and strength, and during extreme situations he loses his extra weight and gains double the power he had before.”
When Sakamoto meets Aoi, the convenience store clerk, “it’s love at first sight and, suddenly, he retires.
“Sakamoto gets married, has a daughter, opens a family-run shop in a quiet town and completely transforms… into a plus-size man.
“To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary former hitman joins his companions to face the looming threat of assassins.”
Suzuki said in a statement: “I want to express my gratitude to the fans, whose support made all this possible. I hope you will continue to join me in building THE DAYS OF SAKAMOTO! Please enjoy the show!”
The Netflix anime The Sakamoto Days will premiere in January 2025.
