Dakota Johnson AND Josh Hartnett they are set to act in front Anne Hathaway in the upcoming film adaptation of By Colleen Hoover novel Truthwhich is based at Amazon MGM Studios.
The film is described as a “gothic, psychosexual thriller” in the vein of Rebecca AND Gone girl.
Johnson will take on the role of Lowen Ashleigh, “a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime – to complete the remaining books in a best-selling series by best-selling thriller author Verity Crawford ( Hathaway). .”
Hartnett plays Jeremy, Verity’s husband, “who hires Lowen after his wife fails to finish the books due to a mysterious accident.”
In the story: “Upon arriving at the luxurious Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem thanks to the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that could reveal chilling admissions about the family’s past.
“As Lowen ingratiates himself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, he must figure out whether Verity’s writings are simply lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning from a deranged psychopath.”
The film is directed by Michael Showalter from a screenplay written by Nick Antoscaafter previous versions were written by Hoover and Lauren Levine.
