New rumors about the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in SPIDER-MAN 4

Another voice has emerged supporting this Tobey Maguire AND Andrea Garfield are set to reprise their iconic roles as Peter Parker Spider-Man 4.

Since the huge success of Spider-Man: No Way Homefans were hungry for more Maguire and Garfield portrayals of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Both actors gave emotional and nostalgic performances that audiences loved, and fans wondered when and where they would show up again.

This recent report comes from Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, who said that both Marvel and Sony are pushing for this Spider-Man 4 have a “team movie” feel, similar to Marvel’s approach with the next film Deadpool 3which pairs Deadpool and Wolverine.

While one version of the story might see Tom HollandSpider-Man joins forces with Tom Hardyof Venom to fight Knull, Perez says that Maguire and Garfield will indeed return for the film, and that their roles will reportedly feature a “larger stake” than their memorable cameos in No way home.

The rumored plot is described as a “mostly grounded story with some multiversal elements,” but the scope of the project may lean more towards an “Avengers-level event.” If even half of these rumors were true, fans would be in for another great Spider-Man movie.

It had already been said previously Charlie Cox is expected to reprise his role as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the series alongside him Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher.

When previously we talked about the film, about the producer Amy Pascal he said, “We’re starting to shoot the next Spider-Man movie with Destin Daniel Cretton. He’s a wonderful director. I love No Mercy, I love Short Term 12, I love Shang-Chi. I think he’s done a wonderful job.”

When it was brought up in the interview that Spider-Man: No Way Home seemed like the perfect send-off for Spider-Man, Pascal replied, “Well, we have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker.”

“And he would focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard.” He joked, “That’s what the movie is about.”

The screenplay was written by No way home writers Chris McKenna AND Erik Sommerswith Destin Daniel Cretton set to lead. Spider-Man 4 release is scheduled for July 24, 2026.

The chance to see Maguire and Garfield reunite at Holland for another Spider-Man adventure is sure to excite fans. We just have to wait and see if they actually show up. I should point out that both actors have said they are open to reprising their roles again.
