YU-GI-OH! CROSSOVER SWITCHES and other recent news

YU-GI-OH! CROSSOVER SWITCHES and other recent news

Earlier this month, Konami released the latest deck building set Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible card game, Crossover switches.

This set introduces three new archetypes to the game including Ryu-Ge, Maliss, and Ryzeal. Honestly, Ryu-Ge hasn’t been talked about much yet and he’s definitely the weakest of the bunch, but Maliss and Ryzeal are taking the scene by storm.

Both were protagonists at YCS Anaheim with Ryzeal even taking the win Steven Trifunoski. Konami was kind enough to send me a box Crossover switches and you can watch it at the bottom of this article. I’d love to hear what you’ve got out of the set so far.

I wanted to take a minute to talk about some recent ones Yu-Gi-Oh! news though. Konami has officially revealed the entire list of games that will be part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early days collection for Nintendo Switch and Steam.

As I predicted, all games are from handheld devices and no console games are on the list. Plus, all the titles I wishlisted in my previous piece are included, so I’m very excited.

You can find the full list below and hopefully more collections may arrive with subsequent handheld games and even console titles as many fans are hoping. It should be noted that at launch, online battles will apparently only be supported in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of the Great Duelist but Konami said that “[a]After release, some titles will be updated to support online battles.

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel of Monsters (1998/GAME BOY)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories (1999/GAME BOY, GAME BOY COLOR)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories (2000 JP, 2002 USA, 2003 EU/GAME BOY COLOR)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelist (2000/GAME BOY COLOR. Includes support for online battles).

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule GB (2000 JP/GAME BOY COLOR)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters (2001 JP, 2003 USA and EU/GAME BOY ADVANCE)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6, Expert 2 (2001/GAME BOY ADVANCE)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul (2001 JP, 2002 US, 2003 EU/GAME BOY ADVANCE)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards (2002 JP, 2003 USA, 2004 EU/GAME BOY ADVANCE)

  • Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: 2005 World Championship Tournament (2004 JP, 2005 US/GAME BOY ADVANCE)

Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the big news for the quarter-century celebration. Konami announced at the end of November that it would release the latest set of Quarter Century Secret Rares in The Stampede of the Quarter Century (we all know it’s just Rarity Collection 4) which launches on April 11, 2025 and Alliance Insight releasing “a few weeks later.”

A while back, Konami asked duelists to nominate their favorite cards they wanted to see in QCR, and the best cards will make up the pool of 200 nostalgic cards for The Stampede of the Quarter Century. Type.

About a third of the top 100 cards in the survey were already there Quarter century bonanza (but how were we to know!) and another third of the high-scoring cards had already been entered The Stampede of the Quarter Centuryand they will remain there as Miscellaneousaurus, Xtra HERO Cross Crusader, Cyber Dragon Infinity, Mulcharmy Fuwalos (WHAT!?), Chamber Dragonmaid, and Salamangreat Raging Phoenix.

That said, we know that the nostalgia pool will have Trap Dustshoot, Metamorphosis (two great classics of the old format!), Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle, Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King, and one of the biggest memes: Petit Moth. Not even Konami expected the latter, as can be seen from the copy I transcribed below:

As for the rest… Petit Moth!? Ok, he’ll go to the nostalgia pool!

I guess Ruxin34 is more powerful than many of us imagined. The package layout will be identical to Quarter century bonanza with 5 cards, 1 from the nostalgia pool and 4 from the main pool.

I’m convinced that at least Mulcharmy Fuwalos will get a relatively quick reprint. I’m really excited to hear what the whole set looks like. Let’s hope Petit Moth isn’t one of the better cards.

Now enjoy opening the package!
