Riot Games announces the LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PROJECT K trading card game

Riot Games has announced a League of Legends trading card game titled Project K. They have shared a promotional video on social media showing off the game and explaining how to play.

Game Director Dave Guskin and executive producer Chengran Chai gave the public a preview of the upcoming cards and clarified that Project K will not be a physical version of Legends of Runeterra, but said that it “inherits some of LoR’s rich champion design philosophies.”

The card game will also be able to take advantage of graphics shared between different LoL media. Some of the decks featured were Viktor’s deck, and Codie Christie, Director of Growth and Marketing, shared, “I’m putting together a lot of very small units and trying to provide power spikes.”

Responsible for creativity Laura DeYoung shared the Volibear deck, saying, “I wouldn’t call it a finesse hand. It’s like, how can I come in and punch everyone in the face?

Marc Merill offered a look at the Yasuo deck, which he described as “Calm Chaos.”

So, senior narrative writer Cheresh cat showed off the Jinx deck, which she says is a “Fury Chaos Tempo aggro deck” that “basically just causes as much chaos as possible.”

Dave said the creative team believes they’ve created “the best social TCG” for players to enjoy, “whether it’s 2v2 team battles or free-for-alls, a way to relax with friends or engage in alliances.” , backstabbing and betrayal.

Cheresh also explained that the deck is very flexible in accommodating casual players, adding a collectible element to the physical TCG.

Chengran Chai talked about how Project K plans to take the GCC and promote it in local stores, and even hold competitions at the local store level, before moving from regional to international competitions.

Riot Games has not announced a release date for Project K, but it will be released first in China and then gradually rolled out to other regions.
