James Wan and its production company Atomic Monster have acquired the rights to the Game Award-nominated indie title Pacific Drive and they’re trying to adapt it into a TV series.
Pacific Drive is “a retropunk-style driving and survival game with a soundtrack of experimental electronic music that challenges players to escape a surreal and abandoned exclusion zone with their car as their only companion in a dark and chilling world.”
The game was created by Cassandra Dracott by Ironwood Studio, and was nominated for Best Debut Indie Game at the 2024 Game Awards and won Best Gameplay at the 2024 BIG Festival, where it was also nominated for Best Game.
The series is not currently attached to a specific network or streaming platform. Michael Clear and Rob Hackett of Wan and Atomic Monster will executive produce the TV series adaptation of the project alongside Jeff Ludwig of The Menagerie Productions.
Atomic Monster is currently developing television projects such as 1313which is a horror reboot of The Munstersa TV series based on Robocop for Amazon and a live-action adaptation of Gargoyle forDisney+.
