A beautiful and touching trailer for the drama has been released The Salt Roadhero Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Sex education) AND Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The OA).
The film was made by the theater director Marianne Elliottmaking his film debut after some filmed productions of theater shows including War horse (2014), Angels in America (2017) e Talking Heads by Alan Bennett.
The screenplay is written by Rebecca Lenkiewiczadapted from Raynor Winn’s memoir, “A Salt Path.” The synopsis reads:
“A married couple (Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs) are diagnosed with ill health and left homeless after legal troubles, so they embark on the 630-mile (1010km) South West Coast Path, the longest continuous route in England, from Minehead to Poole along the Devon, Cornwall and Dorset coast.
The Salt Road it feels like such a well told story and reminds me of the adapted memoir Wildwhich I loved too. There must be something about losing everything and going out into nature to reground yourself.
I just put this audiobook on my library wish list and can’t wait to see it on the big screen. The film will debut in the UK in early 2025. No US release date has been set yet, so stay tuned.
