Last week it was revealed X-Men franchise writer and producer Simone Kinberg is developing a new Star Wars trilogy with Lucasfilm. He will write and produce the three films with the studio head Kathleen Kennedy.
We are at the beginning of the project’s development and all we know so far is that it will take place after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, “Lucasfilm disputed the idea that Kingberg’s films will continue the story George Lucas began with the 1977 films.” A new hope and continued with eight sequels.”
Although the main character has not yet been revealed, some rumors claim to know the actor who will lead the films.
A new voice from an industry scoop MTTSH is now supporting it Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, The witcher) discussed with the studio the possibility of taking on a role in the new trilogy.
Cavill is a fan of the Star Wars franchise and several years ago said of his possible future with it:
“I’m a fan of theirs. I would have to read a script and talk to a director before I could say if I was interested in making a film, it’s not that simple as you know. Yes, it would be fun.” and that’s ideal, but what if the script sucks… you have to keep your fingers crossed that it works.”
So it’s not out of the question that Cavill could be up for a role if he’s interested in the direction Kinberg is taking with his trilogy.
It’s just a rumor for now, so we’ll have to wait and see where it goes. Would you like to see Cavill join the films in a galaxy far, far away?
