Chief Marvel Kevin Feige has run a pretty tight ship over the years, giving us great first few films, and the last few have had some successes and some failures.
But when they acknowledged the crisis, things seem to have refocused and gotten back on track. Included in the plans for the future are many returning superheroes, as well as some highly anticipated newcomers including the X-Men.
We’ve already had a glimpse of this diverse group Deadpool and Wolverineone of Marvel’s most successful films, and we have a lot to look forward to.
During a recent interview with Omelete, while in attendance at Disney’s D23 Brazil this past weekend, Feige talked about the future of the MCU and teased the future of the X-Men and how they relate to Avengers: Secret Wars:
“When we were preparing Avengers: Endgame years ago, it was about getting to the grand finale of our narrative, and then we had to start all over again. This time, entering Secret Warswe already know very well what the story will be until then and after. The X-Men are an important part of that future.”
We’re still two and a half years away from Secret Wars, so we’ll probably still have a little while before the X-Men are introduced. But it’s just nice to know that it’s on the horizon.
Cinematically, Marvel’s confirmed future includes Captain America: Brave New Worldreleasing February 14, 2025; Lightning*releasing May 2, 2025; Fantastic Four: First Stepsin theaters July 25, 2025; Avengers: Judgment Day on May 1, 2026; Spider-Man 4 on July 24, 2026; Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027; Then Lama AND Armor wars at some point in the mix.
What are you most looking forward to?
