Paramount+ gave the next series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy an early renewal of the second season. The decision was made before a premiere date was even set.
The news was shared Saturday during the Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic-Con. During the panel it was also announced that Orphan Black and She-Hulk will star Tatiana Maslany will appear in the first season of the Paramount+ series in a guest star role.
The series “will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary locations in the galaxy. The series will introduce viewers to this young group of cadets as they come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism.
“Under the watchful, demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become a Starfleet officer as they navigate budding friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves, and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”
The cast of the series includes Holly Hunter as captain and chancellor of the Academy, with Paolo Giamatti will play the villain of the first season.
It’s also in the cast Kerrice Brooks, Beautiful Shepard, George Hawkins, Sandro Rosta, Karim DianeAND Zoe Steiner.
Furthermore, Tig Notaro, Picard, Oded FehrAND Maria Saggio will resume their previous roles Star Trek show in the series. Gina Yashere will appear as a recurring guest star.
The series comes from co-showrunners Alex Kurtzmann AND Noga Landau.
