A new TV spot from the upcoming musical film has been released Evilwhich focuses on Elphaba’s journey (Cinzia Erivo) before becoming the Wicked Witch of the West.
The film is directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), from a screenplay written by Winnie Holzmann AND Stefano Schwartz.
It is an adaptation of the stage musical by Holzman and Schwartz Evilbased on the 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West Of Gregory Maguireinspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Evil is the first chapter of a two-part immersive cultural celebration. Acclaimed actress Cinzia Erivo she plays Elphaba Thropp, a green-skinned young woman who eventually becomes the iconic Wizard of Oz villain everyone knows (and fears). Arianna Grande co-starring as Glinda, with Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala SettlementAND Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.
