James Gunn he has a lot of work to do with the direction Superman and working on the development of numerous other film and television projects as co-CEO of DC Studios.
Well, the director has reportedly carved out some time to write his first comic book series for DC Comics as well.
According to Bleeding Cool the Superman the writer and director plans to write his own comic book for release in 2025. The news comes from Baltimore Comic-Con from “[a] senior executives in the comics industry who should be in a position to know these things.”
Neither Gunn nor DC Comics responded to the site when asked for comment. But there is speculation that the comic could be a Superman story written by Gunn with illustrations by DC President, Publisher and CCO Jim Lee.
It would make sense for DC Comics to release a prequel or a tie-in comic to the next one Superman protagonist of the film David Corenswetand I could see Gunn wanting to tell that story.
If this turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see what Gunn is planning. At the moment, none of this is confirmed.
