It’s no secret that when Marvel was shooting the first Iron Man film there was no complete script and director Mr. Jon Favreau he was basically improvising while shooting the film.
That way of making films is something that has become common in the studio and while Iron Man in the end it came out well, it’s not the most effective way to make a film.
Jeff’s Bridges He recently opened up about his frustration with the production during an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and also talked about the original plans for his character, Obadiah Stane.
Bridges said, “I remember being so frustrated, as an actor. I like to be prepared. I like to know my lines. I finally made this little adjustment that made all the difference. It was, ‘Jeff, relax, you’re making a $200 million student film with these great guys. Have fun and relax!'”
Yes! This is exactly what Iron Man was! It was a $200 million student film, and it ended up being a huge hit with fans and audiences.
The actor also revealed that his character Obadiah Stane was originally supposed to survive the end of the film.
He said, “When I read the script, Obadiah Stane falls into that big vat at the end. And in the script that I read and agreed to do, they take my suit out and open it up and I’m not in it. But who knows? It’s all science fiction and I could pop up again.”
It would be really awesome if Obadiah showed up again in the MCU someday! That would be crazy! But I have no idea if that’s something Marvel Studios has ever considered.
Now, there are rumors that Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) will play his son, Ezekiel Stane, in the upcoming film Heart of Iron Disney+ series, but this one hasn’t been seen yet.
