The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 was a huge hit for Prime Video, as it garnered huge streaming ratings. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who hate the show, because there are a lot of them!
Co-showrunner of the epic fantasy series Mr. J.D. Payne He recently reached out to hate watchers and said he was happy to have them with him on his journey.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Payne explained, “The Fellowship had to look at each other, and those who support them, and remember what they’re fighting for. And when we see that millions of people are watching this and reacting so positively, that’s what we’re fighting for.
“And those who watch every episode and [negatively] post on social media and make YouTube videos, we’re happy to have you too. It wouldn’t be a trip to Middle Earth without a few trolls along the way.”
This is a perfect response to the situation! There is no hate coming back. I love that they are embracing the fans who criticize the show. Positivity is a great way to deal with a negative situation.
Personally, I’ve been a little disappointed with season 2 so far, but I hope it gets better as it goes on.
The series is set “thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’S The Hobbit AND The Lord of the Ringsand will take viewers back to a time when great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest thread, and the greatest villain Tolkien had ever created threatened to plunge the entire world into darkness.
“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.
“From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the Elven capital of Lindon, to the extraordinary island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest corners of the map, these kingdoms and characters will leave a legacy that will live on long after they are gone.”
In season two, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without an army or allies, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.
“Building on the epic scope and ambition of the first season, Amazon’s second season The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power immerses even its most beloved and vulnerable characters in a growing tide of darkness, challenging each of them to find their place in a world increasingly on the brink of destruction.
“Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are tested and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good fight ever more bravely to hold on to what matters most to them… themselves.”
What do you think of how season 2 has gone so far?
