Chris Pratt has had his hands in many interesting franchises over the years, the biggest of which was directing James Gunn’S Guardians of the Galaxy at Marvel. They’ve made three films, with the stars also appearing in the last two Avengers films and Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special.
The characters from those films were much-loved, and the final film served as a nice closure to the trilogy, with a nod to a future revival in the future, but with the understanding that James Gunn would move to DC Studios to run the film department with Peter Safran.
But as many of us know, Gunn has done a ton of superhero movies between Marvel and DC, and he loves to recycle his favorite actors into new characters. So it makes sense that Pratt is now rumored to be in talks with Gunn for an undisclosed DC role.
According to the industry expert MTTSH (via CBM), Pratt spoke to Gunn about an undisclosed role, but we can’t say what project he’s referring to, or if it’s true.
In a recent interview, Pratt was asked about the possibility of joining the DC Universe reboot, and he told TMZ:
“Well, there’s always a chance. But obviously I couldn’t screw it up here on the sidewalk with you. I could, but I better not. Hell, I just have to let the fans and people like James decide. I’m not exactly sure. I’m not really sure.”
“Yes, of course, if I can fit it into my schedule and if it makes sense,” he added when asked if he would be interested in a role in the DCU.
Gunn was also asked about his Done! cast members potentially jumping ship for the DCU, and all but confirmed that at least one of his former collaborators is already on board. When a fan asked on Threads, “If you could pick any of the GOTG stars in the DC Universe, who would you pick?”, Gunn responded, “Well, that would be a spoiler, wouldn’t it?”
We’ll just have to wait and see how it all turns out! I have a lot of faith in James Gunn after watching the superhero movies he’s made, and I can’t wait to see his plans come to fruition.
