Quentin Tarantino He recently appeared on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast to talk about a wide range of things and during the conversation he mentioned Pixar History of toys franchising and explained that he will not look Tory Story 4 Why The history of toys 3 It’s one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen.
Tarantino said: “I don’t watch all the animated films and stuff, but I’m a big fan of the History of toys trilogy. I think there is only one trilogy that works completely and totally to the nth degree and that is A Fistful of Dollars, For a few dollars moreAND The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.”
He went on to talk about what the franchise has done, saying, “It does what no other trilogy has ever been able to do. The first film is great, but the second one is so great and it takes the whole idea on such a big canvas that it erases the first one.
“And then the third one does the same thing to the second one, and that’s kind of what never happens. You’ll see this big jump from the first one to the second one and they don’t actually land on the third one.”
Tarantino also raised the issue Crazy Max trilogy at one point and explained how she failed to get the ending as Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome deflated the franchise after The Road Warrior.
Back to History of toysand what makes the third film of the trilogy so beautiful, he said: “In the case of History of toysthe third one is just magnificent. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And if you’ve seen the other two, it’s just devastating.
“But the fact is, three years later or something, they made a fourth one. I have no desire to see it. You literally ended the story in the most perfect way possible, so no, I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done.”
Yes, The history of toys 4 It was a good movie, but it was definitely a step backwards and didn’t quite reach the bar set by the first three films.
Now we have The history of toys 5 coming soon, and like the fourth, good luck to the filmmakers trying to reach the bar of the original trilogy. I don’t think they’ll succeed, but we’ll see.
The history of toys 5 It is directed and written by Finding Nemo AND Wall-E helmsman Andrea Stanton.
What do you think of Tarantino’s thoughts on History of toys franchising?
