Michelle Pfeiffer is officially set to star in and executive produce Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Yellowstone spin-off series, Madison.
She has been in talks to join the series alongside Patrick J. Adams AND My First Encounter with Kurt Russellwhich have yet to be officially confirmed.
The story of this series will be set after the events of Yellow stone flagship series that concludes with the fifth season.
The series is said to “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana following the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash.”
The series is also described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection that follows a New York City family into the Madison River Valley of central Montana.”
Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and chairman/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, said:
“Michelle Pfeiffer is an extraordinary talent who infuses every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the next chapter of the Yellow stone universe, The Madisonfrom the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
The ensemble cast is still being finalized, but other CST members may also be included. Handsome Garrett (The Good Doctor, Firefly Lane). Matthew McConaughey was originally considered for the series alongside the original cast members Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser AND Luke Grimes reprising their roles as Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler and Kayce Dutton.
We don’t know if Russell will play the role that McConaughey was originally supposed to play or if he’ll play a completely new one. We also don’t know if any of the other actors in Yellow stone will be involved.
The spinoff is expected to begin production later this month in Montana, New York, and Texas. It is slated to premiere in 2025, following the conclusion of the parent series’ Season 5B, which premieres on November 10.
